About

TJ Davis moved to London in 1989 with her best friend, the songwriter David Brooks. They played every pub and club in town with their bands Jump the Gap and Carwash, and she found her way into the music business through the classified ads in Melody Maker.

Her first big tour was as a backing vocalist for Gary Numan. Then came D:Ream, where she was the featured vocalist on "The Power" and sang on Top of the Pops, along with backing vocals on Blur's "Universal" and the 1996 single "Brilliant Feeling" with The Full Monty All Stars.

In 1997 she sang every song on Sega's Sonic R, and later the Dreamcast's Metropolis Street Racer. For years she toured the world as Frida in Björn Again, from the Royal Albert Hall to supporting the Spice Girls at Wembley. Her own single "Wonderful Life" followed in 2001, and "I Believe" with Sash! in 2003.

Today TJ is a regular touring member of D:Ream, a guest at Sonic conventions around the world, and in 2026 released New Frontiers, her first new music in over two decades, funded by 399 backers on Kickstarter.

In their words

TJ is one of the finest singers I've ever worked with, both in the studio and on stage.

Gary Numan, Singer and songwriter

She has a voice that can make you cry in her ballads, and, frankly, catch your breath in her R&B and dance portfolio.

Nick Van Eede, Cutting Crew

I've never come across a personality or talent to match quite like TJ Davis.
